Overview:
Ketonal Duo® belongs to the over-the-counter (OTC) category and is available in all major
pharmacies in Georgia, including:

Ketonal® (ketoprofen) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with analgesic and
antipyretic effects. It is used for symptomatic treatment of inflammatory, degenerative, and
metabolic rheumatic conditions and for the relief of various types of pain.

Ketonal Duo® 150 mg Capsules
Adults and adolescents 15 years and older:
1 capsule (150 mg ketoprofen) once daily
Take during or immediately after a meal with at least 100 mL of water or milk
Capsules must not be crushed or chewed
Contraindicated for children under 15 years
Ketonal Extra Plus® 50 mg Granules (Water-Soluble)
Each double sachet contains 50 mg ketoprofen (equivalent to 80 mg ketoprofen lysine
salt)
Half sachet (25 mg) or full sachet (50 mg) can be used
Dosage for adults and adolescents 16 years and older:
25 mg: 1–3 times daily
50 mg: 1–2 times daily
Minimum interval between doses: 8 hours
How to use:
Dissolve half (25 mg) of the contents in 50 mL water, or the full sachet (50 mg) in 100 mL
water
Stir for ~30 seconds until fully dissolved
Take immediately during a meal
Contraindicated for children under 16 years
Ketonal® Gel
Adults and adolescents 15 years and older:
Apply gently to the affected area 1–2 times daily
Dose depends on the size of the painful area
Indications for Ketonal® Gel:
Local pain and swelling in muscles and joints due to trauma or sports injuries (sprains,
dislocations, muscle/tendon tears)
Relief of muscle pain caused by overexertion
Relief of pain and inflammation in degenerative spine and joint conditions
Indications for Ketonal® (All Forms):
Pain relief:
Post-traumatic
Post-operative
Dysmenorrhea (painful menstruation)
Bone metastases-related pain in cancer patients
Rheumatic pain:
Rheumatoid arthritis
Spondyloarthritis (including ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, reactive arthritis)
Gout and pseudogout
Osteoarthritis
Short-term pain relief (Ketonal Extra Plus®):
Mild to moderate pain in adults and adolescents 16 years and older
Headache, toothache, menstrual pain, minor muscle, tendon, and ligament strain
Over-the-Counter Status:
Ketonal® is OTC (Pharmaceutical Product Group III) – available without a prescription in all
pharmacies.
Warnings and Precautions:
Consult your doctor before use if you have asthma, history of bronchospasm, gastric
ulcers, or sensitivity to histamine
Discontinue use and seek medical attention if you notice changes in skin or mucous
membranes
Do not use if you are under 15 years (Duo) or 16 years (Extra Plus)
